Why Am I Doing This?

The short answer? I have no clue. A former teacher, now friend, suggested I start writing. So why not make it public? He’s probably the only person that’ll read these informal ramblings…

Hi, my name is Elizabeth, and I’d like to think I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I am by no means an expert in any one field, but I do consider my mind to be one centered in intellect. I enjoy learning in all realms, not solely the academic. This space is where I’d like to explore more learning.

Ok, back to the original question: why do this?

• I have a lot to say, and not a lot people to say it to.
• I genuinely enjoy writing.
• Maybe someone will actually take something away from this thing? That would be pretty cool…

Those are the basics, really. I’m a college student living in a messed up world. These posts are my thoughts, or ramblings, rather, about that world.

I’m glad you asked…

• I’m a born student. I love school, learning, and all that jazz.
• I’m an English nerd. Proud of it. Books, essays, grammar, all of it, but I’m not going to be a grammar nut on these posts. Again, they’re ramblings.
• I love music. This is probably due to my lack of eyesight. As I write more, you’ll know very quickly my musical preferences. And you’ll get sick of them just as quickly.
• I’m a highly emotional person. That will be made abundantly clear.

I live in a country plagued by inequality, chaos, and crap. I will be honest about my opinions, whether you like it or not. I often find that my ramblings are about politics, social issues, education, or my personal life. You’re going to get a large serving of each. As I explore, I’m hoping that you’ll explore with me.

Let the writer’s block settle in, and the word-vomit never end. Welcome to my mind. Let the ramblings begin!
